Unable to find OMEdit server, Object reference file /var/folders/../openmodelica... not created. OMEdit will close.

I used macports as described in the download page, albeit I had some issues, which are documented [https://www.openmodelica.org/index.php/forum/topic?id=793#p2987 here] .
