The ""latest News"" section cannot be reduced in width at will.
Its width will remain larger than, say, around 10 cm.
This is not nice: to me, for instance, the recent files list is more important.
I suggest to allow ""Latest News"" section of the welcome page to be shrunk at will (or even hidden).
