    11Maybe one could "set the  x variable locked"  by double clicking (or CTRL-clicking or RIGHT-clicking) on the corresponding checkbox, and then select sequentially other boxes, thus other variables, for the vertical axis.
    2 A new double click (or CTRL-click or RIGHT click) could unlock the locked box.
