Import FMU Model Description fails for any model not named modelDescription.xml

In OMEdit open FMI->Import FMU Model Description and in the upcoming file selector choose the attached file ´modelDescriptionXXX.xml`. The message window will display something like

[8] 14:04:44 Scripting Error
module = Cannot open file '/tmp/OpenModelica_bernhard/OMEdit/modelDescription.xml' for parsing, log level = FATAL: FMIXML

[9] 14:04:44 Scripting Error
The FMU version is unknown. Unknown/Unsupported FMU version.

[10] 14:04:44 Scripting Notification
  adding: modelDescriptionXXX.xml (deflated 49%)

Now, rename the file to modelDescription.xml and import it again. This time it works. Hence, it seems that importing FMU Model Description fails for any file not named modelDescription.xml.
