No idea why its like that. Have you tried changing the plotting view mode? Tools->Options->Plotting->Default Plotting View Mode.

Milestone: 1.17.01.18.0

Retargeted to 1.18.0 because of 1.17.0 timed release.

Is this still valid with the latest nightly build?

I am closing this ticket for now.

Yes, it is still there with 1.18.0-dev-239 on a 1920x1080 screen.
On a 1920x1200 the buttons are ok.

@adrpo any idea about this Qt display bug?

@adeas31 and me have been playing with this and indeed it seems to be a Qt bug with higher screen resolutions. I will try to see if there is an updated Qt for msys2/mingw that fixes this.

I investigated more and it seems that is actually not a Qt bug. I made a small test application which works just fine. Some thing is strange in OMEdit and so far I have no idea what it is. On my PC it works fine with resolution 2048x1152 and does not work as expected with resolution 3840x2160.

I asked a question on Qt forum https://forum.qt.io/topic/126164/qmainwindow-qmdiarea-minimize-maximize-and-close-buttons-are-not-drawn-correctly/3

The issue is not due to too low resolution or to too high: compare comment 4 and 7.
The cause must be somewhere.

It would have been better if your test applications replicated the issue: in that case, at least we knew that the culprit was Qt...

I also tried with the latest qt libraries for msys2/mingw and that didn't help.
