Description
I get the following error
communication with OE Edit server has been lost
program terminates and crashes
I am using windows XP service pack 3

Hi,
I suggest you uninstall 1.8.1 and try the latest nightly build:
https://build.openmodelica.org/omc/builds/windows/nightly-builds/
as 1.8.1 is rather old and a lot of bugs have been fixed since then
and we're preparing for the final 1.9.0 release.
