debian: update omc #15987-1 to 16566-1 fails: omc requests libhdf5-1.8.4 but 1.8.8 installed

Hello,
I just wanted to update omc from version 15987-1 to 16566-1 on debian (squeeze). It, however, fails because omc requests libhdf5-1.8.4 and debian has currently libhdf5-7 version 1.8.8-9 (stable) available (it isn't possible to force an other version).
Can omc not deal with higher versions of hdf5?
