Version of OMSimulator not displayed correctly in 1.13.0-dev.beta1 under Linux

Priority: | blocker | Milestone: | 1.13.1 |
Component: | OMEdit | Version: | v1.13.0-dev.beta1 |
Keywords: | Cc: | Andrea Bartolini |
Description
The "About" windows of the 1.13.0-dev.beta1 version on Linux (Ubuntu 16.04 LTS) is attached. It shows the following writing:
Connected to OMSimulator GIT-NOTFOUND-linux
OMSimulator seems to work fine, but that indication really looks unprofessional.
On Windows 64-bit I get
Connected to OMSimulator v2.0.0-dev-916-g0936825-mingw
which sounds more reasonable.
Can you please fix that in time for the release?

Do you have some way of setting the version of OMSimulator? We just use a text-file with the version that configure looks for in OpenModelica.

OMSimulator#578 The version information is now read from a file version.txt if git is not available.

Martin, please make sure that such a file is present when making the builds.

The problem is that we build it from some source package on Linux and not from a git repository as far as I understand.
