#6120 new defect
can not resume simulation after pausing interactive simulation (OPC-UA fails on making run=false) in all new versions

Priority: | high | Milestone: | Future |
Component: | OPC | Version: | v1.16.0-dev |
Keywords: | OPC-UA interactive simulation | Cc: |
Description
I have been trying to run OM interactive simulation session.
Till OM release v1.12.0 I could pause and resume OPC-UA server by toggling the value of "run" variable in OPC server built by OM. But in all later versions, this feature is not functioning well.
In all new versions (release/stable/nightly) I can start the simulation by providing run=true but, later with the intention of pausing the simulation if I provide run=false then OPC link disconnects and simulation fails and thus can not be resumed again and have to restart the simulation.
Note:
See TracTickets
for help on using tickets.
I have had my fair share of awkward moments with the interactive simulation via OPC. According to my experience, the functionality unfortunately is utterly deprecated and broken. If I understand things correctly, it has not seen meaningful maintenance since the original proof of concept release, which is years ago.
