Omedit Welcome page rather rigid

Description
The Omedit welcome page contains "Recent Files" and "Latest News" sections.
The "latest News" section cannot be reduced in width at will.
Its width will remain larger than, say, around 10 cm.
This is not nice: to me, for instance, the recent files list is more important.
I suggest to allow "Latest News" section of the welcome page to be shrunk at will (or even hidden).
Maybe someone (not me) would prefer also "recent files" to be allowed to be hidden.

The users can now show/hide the latest news section & can change the view via options->General->Welcome Page.
